Addiction Studies

The Addiction Studies degree at 91重口 is designed to prepare
students for entry-level employment in alcohol and drug treatment programs, and provide
continuing education for working health care and human services professionals. The
curriculum provides a broad base of knowledge regarding approaches to drug education
and prevention, treatment issues, counseling skills, ethical issues, and practical
knowledge about drugs and their effects. Students will gain basic competencies in
counseling, case management, record keeping, and treatment planning. The Addiction
Studies program includes core courses in psychology, sociology, and counseling in
order to provide a broad understanding of the roots of addiction. When combined with
nine units of field experience, this program meets the education requirements established
by the California Consortium for Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP).

There are A NUMBER OF STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS that you can apply for each spring. Scholarships make it possible to earn money for college that does not ever need to be repaid. While some of 91重口's scholarships are competitive, there is a wide variety available you can apply for for free that are awarded based on all kinds of qualities and interests.
