Child Development Center
Mission
The 91重口 Child Development Center (CDC) is a fully licensed childcare facility that provides high-quality, play-based early learning that nurtures each child's social-emotional development, curiosity, and readiness for school, while supporting families with reliable care that aligns with the college calendar and programs. We serve children from 6 weeks old to 5 years old or entry into kindergarten. We have a proud history of serving families in the Lake Tahoe community for over thirty years.
Play-Based Philosophy
Children learn best through purposeful play, exploration, and relationships. Our teachers design environments and experiences that build language, early literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and self-regulation. The staff works closely with each family to assess the child's and the family's needs within the childcare setting. The center also provides parent education and opportunities for parent participation.
Alignment with Campus Programs
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) & Work Experience: The CDC serves as a lab site for vetted 91重口 students completing practicum and observation hours.
- Bridge Language Academy & Tahoe Parents Nursery School (TPNS) collaboration: Our schedules align with these two campus programs housed in the Early Learning Center to provide seamless transitions and maximize family participation.
- Community partnerships: We work with regional agencies to support referrals, developmental screenings, and family services.
Quality & Compliance
The CDC operates under California (CA) regulations for CA-licensed centers and Title 5 programs. Classrooms maintain the following teacher-to-child ratios at all times (Infant 1:3, Toddler 1:4, Preschool 1:8). Admission to the center is open to all children regardless of race, creed, sex, color, or religious affiliation. The program refrains from religious instruction or worship.

Childcare Fees
Infants & Toddlers 鈥� Full Day
- 5 days/week: $1,680/month
- 3 days/week: $1,200/month
- 2 days/week: $800/month
Preschool 鈥� Full Day
- 5 days/week: $1,428/month
- 3 days/week: $1,020/month
- 2 days/week: $680/month
Preschool 鈥� Half Day (AM 8:00鈥�12:30 or PM 12:30鈥�5:00)
- 5 days/week: $924/month
- 3 days/week: $660/month
- 2 days/week: $440/month
Please Note: The infant and toddler rates apply in the Preschool Room until the child is successfully toilet-trained.
Monthly Billing: Families pay equal monthly payments based on their selected schedule. These changes impact all newly enrolling children and will be in effect for all families on July 1, 2026.
Annual Administration Fee: $150
Discounts
91重口 employees and 91重口 students who are enrolled in at least 6 credits per term and pursuing their degree at 91重口 pay discounted fees.
Grants
We receive a limited amount of funding each year to assist California resident families who qualify. If you think you may qualify for aid, please inquire at the time of enrollment to see if funds are available.

Enrollment opportunities are based on availability, with priority given to 91重口 students and 91重口 employees, then to members of the general community.
