Students sometimes find themselves in a living situation that is unstable and inadequate. This may include living in a shelter, a motel, a vehicle, tent camping, 鈥渃ouch-surfing鈥� between friends' apartments or homes, or in other accommodations not normally used as a residence. This is sometimes referred to as lacking a fixed or permanent residence, or being highly mobile, and it is a common problem among college students.

A student who lacks fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence or whose primary nighttime residence is a public or private shelter designed to provide temporary residence, or a public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings, may be exempt from paying tuition and fees, and may be eligible for other support services and accommodations.

If you find yourself in this situation or know someone who is, the starting point for accessing services at 91重口 is through the Director of Student Equity, whose office is located on the second floor of the Main Building in Room A258. The director will work with students to determine their needs and coordinate access to available resources. These may include use of or referral to the following services:

• Financial Aid 鈥� including assistance to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and guidance and support to determine financial aid dependency status
• 91重口 Food Pantry - The purpose of 91重口's Food Pantry is to provide emergency supplemental food and other basic necessities to students who need this kind of assistance. To be eligible for services, you must be enrolled in classes and meet other income eligibility guidelines.
